Day 1: Arrival in Cluj-Napoca
Our journey begins in Cluj-Napoca, the second largest city in Romania. Cluj is a very old city, which was administrative and military center, but also the capital of Transylvania. We will take a city tour while visiting the following attractions: Piata Unirii, the birthplace of the Hungarian king Matei Corvin, the Gothic St. Michael’s Church, but also the Franciscan church and the baroque Piarist church. We will spend the night in Cluj.
Day 2: Cluj – Surdesti- Plopis – Baia Mare
Day 3: Baia Mare – Sapanta – Rozavlea – Viseu de Sus
Day 4: A day trip with the steam train
Today we will spend the whole day in Viseu de Sus and a ride with the steam train – an absolute must for those who are nearby. The ride with this steam train is one of the last such railway adventure in Europe. In the evening we will relax at the campfire and enjoy a quiet dinner in the nature.
Day 5: Viseu de Sus – Moldovita – Sucevita – Radauti
Day 6: Radauti – Cetatea Neamt – Lacul Bicaz – Lacul Rosu - Hanul Moara
We will make the first stop for today in Cetatea Neamt. The castle was built in the 14th century and leads your visitors into the period of the early middle Ages back. Lacul Bicaz / Bicaz Lake is the largest reservoir in Romania and offers a magnificent view over the Ceahlau massif. Lacul Rosu / The Red Lake was created in 1838 by a landslide dammed a river. The view of the lake and the nature is stunning. We end the day with a pleasant dinner in a mill in the rhythm of the Szekler music.
