Ten magical days
The International Theatre Festival in Sibiu (FITS) brings each year countless artists and theater groups from 70 countries of the world. From 08 to 17 June 2018, the festival is now taking place for the 23rd time. The time when the city turns into a stage. In over 66 locations of the city and in the surrounding area you will find artists who want to inspire the viewers. Most ideas are street performances, the play, music and colorful costumes connect.
Day 1: Arrival in Sibiu
Transfer from the airport Sibiu to your centrally located hotel. After a short refreshment break, we start with a detailed walking tour of Sibiu. The city was founded by the Saxons in the 12th century was in 2007 together with Luxembourg European Capital of Culture. The many pedestrian streets invite all visitors to explore the beauty of the city. In the evening we make our first visit to the theater.
Day 2: Sibiu - Cisnadioara - Cisnadie - Sibiu
After breakfast we take a trip to Cisnădie / Heltau and Cisnădioara. In Cisnadie is a fortified church and castle in Cisnadioara the only built in the Romanesque style castle, which is not a ruin. In the early afternoon we reach Sibiu again. The next stage plays have been waiting for.
Day 3: Sibiu
This day is at leisure. Our guide gives good recommendations for exploring the city. The full program of the festival you will surely find an idea for you. In the evening we meet again for the joint theater performance.
Day 4: Sibiu - Sighisoara - Sibiu
Early in the morning we start towards Sighisoara. The city is considered the birthplace of the famous Dracula. What it’s all about, we learned today. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has an intact and inhabited castle. In the afternoon we arrive in Birthälm. From a distance we see the imposing fortified church, which offered the villagers protect themselves from attack. In the evening is the last theater on the program.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, we enjoy the last hours in Sibiu. Then we drive to the airport.
