04 / Active journeysOur country is divided equally — one third mountains, one third hills, one third plains. You can climb to an altitude of 2,544 metres. Higher mountains exist elsewhere — we know. But what makes Romania unique is that its nature remains untouched. You can hike for hours without coming across a single settlement, while wildlife is very much present. The barely trafficked country roads offer a wonderful opportunity to explore Romania's hidden treasures by bicycle. The Danube Delta speaks for itself. Be active on your holiday!
The highest trails in Romania follow the Făgăraș ridge above 2,400 metres — granite peaks, glacial lakes, and mountain huts where the only sounds are wind and cowbells. Guided walks for all levels across the wildest terrain in the country.
The Apuseni offer a gentler range — lower ridges, limestone gorges, and trails through meadow villages past underground glaciers. A hiking journey through one of Romania's least-visited but most varied highland landscapes.
